About
Hey Hi!
I started this blog so I could share my interest in travel, family adventures, and personal escapes. The chapters of my ‘life journey’ landed me in a different continent with each decade. I’ve lived in the UK, Middle East, Southeast Asia, and now the USA. In 2019 I moved with my family to Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks, a chain of small barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina. It’s a friendly small Island community and an amazing place to now call home. I’ve worked in the events industry and luxury hospitality, which allowed me to travel extensively and live in many different countries. I’m also a certified travel advisor and can book travel and help plan vacations.
Living on a sandbar! Hatteras Island is my home at the beach. And if I’m not here, then you’ll find me on a family adventure to some far-flung destination, or embarking on my own barefoot escape when I can.
Island Attic Avon. I work here through the busy summer months. It’s a colorful gift shop, selling Balinese furniture, handicrafts, global fair trade goods, and local art. This where I bring a little international flair to my island life.
Fora Travel Advisor. You can always reach me here through my Fora profile or stop by my pop-up ‘Travel Desk’ at the Island Attic Avon shop on Hatteras Island . Drop by and say hi—I love to talk about travel experiences and share my adventures. If you have any questions about booking travel or planning a vacation, I’d be glad to assist you with hotels, all-inclusive resorts, tours, safaris, and cruises, in the USA and destinations worldwide.
Surf or Sound Realty. If you are planning to stay on Hatteras Island and looking at accommodation options, I also book beach homes for Sound or Sound Realty, a leading vacation rental company locally based on Hatteras Island. I can help you make a reservation and plan for a great vacation.
Mom-on-the-run! When I’m not going between the shop and planning travel, my family life is filled with driving kids to surf, tennis, basketball activities—and finding time to enjoy this special island we call home. Having NC 12 South in my view for my daily commute—I wouldn’t have it any other way!!
