Fun, frolics, and fresh sea air.
Welcome to my hometown. Growing up we lived in a couple of countries, so I have a few different hometowns. Brighton is where the rest of my immediate family lives now. It’s super cool, and it’s really one of my favorite places in the world of all time. Now that is saying something!
I try to go back to see my mum and visit family there at least every other year. My time is always a whirlwind of catching up with old friends, getting my dose of London in, drinking plenty of tea… that includes a really good G’n’T, Sunday lunch, and soaking in everything that’s English. I could go on…
Brighton and Hove is a city on England’s South Coast, and only an hour or so away from London by train. A seaside resort town, Brighton is best known for its Regency architecture, Brighton Palace Pier, the Royal Pavilion, pebble (stone) beach, and swooping pterodactyl-like seagulls. It has a thriving music and arts scene, a liberal and boho vibe with an inclusive and sustainable focus, plenty of boutique shopping, and many restaurants, pubs, and markets contributing to its diverse food scene.
In Brighton you’ll find an eclectic population mix, different ethnicities, retirees, university students, a big LGBTQ community, the spillover from London, hipster types (if that’s still a thing), all living together, thriving together, and being very proudly Brightonian.
I’ll last visited in Spring 2025, and I’ve yet to update this post on all things Brighton Beautiful! Keep watching this space.
